FALLING IN LOVE with the FASCIA

a FASCIAL UNWINDING 50 hour training with Ateeka

DENMARK edition

Connect, explore and RESTORE movement within your LIVING WEB of LIFE, the myo-fascial tissue (bindevev). Your fascia is a continuum of LIVING soft tissue, floating in its own fluid, without beginning or end . . . that offers both freedom and containment to your entire being.

In this 50 hour LIVE training, we will dive into the miraculous tissue of the fasciae . . . connecting through movement, sensing and relaxation with the nature of the different layers and how they interplay. You will learn many aspects the practice of yogaSOMATICS MYOFASCIAL UNWINDING that softly and gently helps to restore your myofascial and soft tissue to a state of healthy natural resiliency, more pleasure in the body and rest in the mind.

Through all three meetings, we set the tone of “being” rather than ”doing”. Our movement and sensing practices are an expression of listening, respect, empathy and kindness towards ourselves and the group we practice together with. We truly live in a web of CONNECTIVITY.

SOME OF THE THEMES:

  • Myofascial Unwinding: Learn variations of this gentle, yet very effective practice that support grounding, centering, embodiment, stress reduction, pain relief and relaxation.

  • Through movement, breath and visualisation, learn and embody different layers/types of fascia in your own body: superficial fascia, deep fascia, visceral fascia and more.

  • Fascia is an “aquatic being” by nature. Learn to sense the “ground substance”: the self-generated fluid that fascia floats in and glides upon.

  • Explore and become familiar with the nature and sensation of other types of fluid in our bodies, incl. cerebral-spinal fluid, hydrolaunic acid and more.

  • Loosening the Effort: Leaning into the momentum of movement where flow is more powerful than force

  • Constructed or unconstructed unwinding: learn specific & new ways to introduce this practice to your students & clients.

  • Unwinding as a dance with gravity & levity: laying down, standing, sitting, all fours and even some supported inversion creates new opportunities for fascial and nervous system resiliency.

  • Learn Ever-so-GENTLE unwinding of deep visceral fascia of the torso/belly through touch and breath.

  • Pratices to support the psoas and pelvic fascial web back to its original lush and luxurious state of being (a happy Hara center)

  • The breath-fascia-nervous system-energy body connection

  • Learning to perceive and communicate with the different “densities” of the fascial layers (soft body, dense body, fluid body, etc)

  • Perceive and move with the stream of the fine layers of fascia within the cranium and spine.

  • Softening and slowing down safely.

  • Special and very gentle deep movment dives exploring:

  • The tongue and its connection to all the fascial web

    1. The navel as a vital center of life

    2. Reciprocal tension membrane - the connectivity of the fine spinal web from brain to base

    3. Bowls & Domes: the diaphragms of the body

    4. The precious pericardium - fascial tissue of your human heart

There are opportunties for questions and answers and also some short talks about how to apply these practices to your classes/sessions.

Certificate: Upon completion of the three weekends, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for 50 credit hours.
