"Restorative Yoga meets Somatics”

a 25 hour online education with Ateeka

An informative and experiential 25 hour ONLINE education with the intention of helping you to develop skills for sharing Restorative Yoga with a somatic perspective. 

This course is an ideal immersion for yoga teachers, yoga practitioners, health care professionals physiotherapists, massage and bodywork therapists, dance and creative movement practitioners and teachers, and anyone curious about enhancing their own potential for self-healing.


You will learn:

  • Experience and learn to teach classic and innovative somatic based Restorative Yoga postures.

  • Practice, principles and theory of Restorative/Relaxation Yoga.

  • Posture variations and use of supportive props to meet your students’ individual needs.

  • Nervous System Resets to help your students relax into a deep state of regenerative response.

  • The use of hands-on contact for support of the practice.

  • Specific breathwork and pranayama practices for deep relaxation and healing.

  • Specific protocols for teaching Restorative Yoga to those with chronic health issues.

  • How sound and music affects the body-mind and use of sound/music in class.


HOW IS THE ONLINE EDUCATION STRUCTURED?

3 LIVE STREAM MEETINGS (12 hours)

Module 1: Saturday April 10, 2021
Module 2: Saturday May 22, 2021

Module 3: Saturday June 12, 2021

Live stream meeting times:

12:00 - 14:30 pm CET/Oslo (2.5 hours)

16:30 - 18:00 pm CET/Oslo (1.5 hours)


WEEKLY ONLINE PRACTICE (13 hours)

Each Monday during the course period, you will receive a new pre-recorded yogaSOMATICS RESTORATIVE video chapter to practice with. These video chapters include a 1 hour YS Restorative Yoga practice, videos with key points about 1-2 specific Restorative asanas and other relaxation techniques. You will receive 8 weeks on online video practices - 1 week at a time - beginning after the first live-stream module.

To receive certification, you will be expected to attend at least 2 of the 3 live stream meetings and to dedicate time each week between the live-stream modules to practice with the new material and give feedback in the group comments area.
